An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistive Technology Assistant to join our client services team at Guide Dogs Queensland.

Our mission is to deliver mobility services to blind & vision impaired adults and children throughout communities in Queensland. Our Assistive Technology Assistant works within a multidisciplinary team to support and enrich the lives of Queenslanders with no or low vision; providing assistive technology support and training to help our clients achieve everyday life goals.

About You

If you like helping others and contributing to the community then this role could be for you!  You will be committed to a person-centred approach to working with people with low or no vision supporting them to achieve daily living activities through the use of technology.

You will be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of a range of mobility and assistive technologies, which would include screen access technology, magnification equipment, telephone and Braille equipment and software applications.

Effective interpersonal communication skills are essential to be a success in this role.

The role is a casual position providing support in line with operational needs.
