Community Partnerships Advisor - Far North Queensland

Guide Dogs Queensland has an exciting opportunity for a Community Partnerships Advisor to join our Community Engagement team based in Townsville. This full time role will deliver and increase revenue from community fundraising and partnership programs throughout far north Queensland.

 Reporting to the Community and Corporate Partnerships Manager, this position is also responsible for:

  • Maintaining and stewarding relationships with supporters in the region, including donors, volunteers, and community organisations.
  • Ensuring effective local delivery of state-wide fundraising programs, special events and marketing campaigns.
  • Contributing to the development of a calendar of activities and events for raising Guide Dogs Qld’s profile in the community and providing a platform for growth and development.
  • Representing Guide Dogs Qld at events and public relations functions, including speaking and/or presenting.
  • Utilising and managing volunteers in a range of capacities to support community fundraising activities and events.

About You

Our successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Community Fundraising or Events role, preferably within a non-profit environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, marketing or a related discipline or relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of building strong networks and relationships within a community based setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build rapport and communicate effectively in a broad range of community and corporate settings.
  • A demonstrated understanding of peer-to-peer fundraising principles and strategies.
  • A self-starter with an ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Current driver’s license.
