Guide Dogs Queensland is currently seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our friendly and close-knit Assets & Maintenance team at our Breeding and Training Centre, located in Bald Hills.

In this autonomous role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness of our Bald Hills site and facilities to the highest of standards on a daily basis. 

We are seeking a team player who will assist with the following duties:

  • Floor maintenance (i.e., vacuuming, mopping, polishing).
  • Bathroom and toilet upkeep
  • Kitchen organisation and pantry cleanliness
  • Rubbish removal (i.e., removing all waste from office and kitchen bins to large skip bins on site)
  • Cleaning of windows and glass doors
  • Use of cleaning chemicals and equipment as required

This permanent part-time role offers 20 hours per week and works Monday to Friday between the hours 4am – 8am to complete daily cleaning tasks across our site.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous cleaning and chemical handling experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with staff, volunteers, clients, and other stakeholders in a way that reflects GDQ’s values.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Unrestricted Open driver’s licence.
  • Current Tetanus vaccination.
  • Physical fitness as this position may require carrying/lifting of items up to 20kgs.
