Canine Coordinator

Guide Dogs Queensland are seeking an enthusiastic Canine Coordinator to join the team on a full-time basis at our Breeding and Training Centre at Bald Hills.

You will be working as part of a dynamic team alongside another Canine Coordinator and in close collaboration with the Guide Dog Services team, supporting each other to achieve our goals, whilst delivering premium customer service to all volunteers and staff.

Our successful Canine Coordinator will be responsible for: 

  • Coordinating, recruiting, inducting, assessing, onboarding, and supporting all Guide Dog Services canine volunteer programs.
  • Coordinating finding suitable forever homes for withdrawn dogs.
  • Coordinating dog movements in the canine boarding program.
  • Providing technical support for our web-based information system.
  • Managing of canine purchasing and inventory control and,
  • Other proactive administration as required.

About You

You will demonstrate:

  • Previous demonstrated work experience in a similar role, preferably with canines or in animal behaviour.
  • Excellent administration and computer skills.
  • Be able to effectively prioritise tasks and work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a current Open Driver’s Licence.
  • Have an up-to-date tetanus vaccination.
